Terry Hames
Assistant Manager

Terry joined McLaurin at Pinecrest in 2011. He is a native of Asheboro, NC and has been a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in North Carolina since 1991. He is a graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, GA. Terry and his wife, Phyllis, are the parents of five children and six grandchildren. They attend The Capital Church in Garner. He is also a Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary International.

Sam Horton
Cemetery Administrator

Lisa “Sam” Horton has been employed with McLaurin at Pinecrest since September 1998. She is a cemetery administrator and working with people is something she enjoys. Sam is originally from Spartanburg, SC and has lived in Clayton since 1992 with her husband Randy and their two children Kyle and Kori.

Virginia Hunnicutt
Funeral Assistant

A native of North Carolina, Virginia has worked with Mclaurin at Pinecrest for 9 years and has been in the funeral industry since 1985. Prior to 1985, she was employed by Wake County Schools as a teacher. Helping people has always been her goal in life. Her hobbies are traveling, reading, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is the widow of the late Bill Hunnicutt and lives in Wendell, NC.

Jim McLaurin, Jr.
Manager

Jim was born and raised in Clayton and continues to make his home here today. He is a second generation funeral director who grew up in the funeral business. He is a graduate of Fayetteville Community College. Jim is married and together with his wife, Marian, they have five children. He is a Past Master of Granite Lodge #191, a retired member of the Clayton Fire Department and Horne Memorial United Methodist Church.

Jimmy D. McLaurin
Founder & Past President

Jimmy D. McLaurin, founder of McLaurin Funeral Home, has served three terms as Johnston County Coroner, and is a Past President of the Clayton Rotary Club, Granite Lodge, Johnston Co. Shrine Club, Clayton Chamber of Commerce, Clayton Lions Club and Leonard Moore Post #71. In 2005 was elected Potentate of Amara Shriners and was named Clayton Citizen of the year in 1971. He is married to the former Elizabeth Cooper of Clayton.

J. W. Nichols
Funeral Assistant

J. W. joined McLaurin at Pinecrest in 2006. He is a native of Clayton and a graduate of Clayton High School. He worked for O’Neal Chrysler and David O’Neal Automotive Group for 46 years as Parts Manager and Wholesale Parts Manager. J. W. and his wife, Annie, have been married 52 years. They are the parents of one daughter, Teresa Nichols Smith. They are members of Clayton First Baptist Church.

William A. (Bill) Phillips
Funeral Assistant

William A. (Bill) Phillips joined McLaurin at Pinecrest in 2003. He is a native of the Clayton Area and retired from The Raleigh Police Department in 2002 with 30 years of service. Bill and his wife Donna have been married for 36 years and are the proud parents of two sons, Joshua and Joseph, and one granddaughter, Elizabeth.

Teresa M. Pryse
Administrative Assistant

Teresa, a native of Clayton, has been with McLaurin at Pinecrest since 1998 and as an administrative assistance since 2000. She loves helping others, especially during their time of need. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, she has two daughters Amy and Amber and two grandchildren Kaci and Cole.

Lynette Worlds
Funeral Assistant

Lynette Worlds joined McLaurin at Pinecrest in 2010. Lynette was raised in Clayton and is married to Bobby Worlds. They have four children between them and four grandchildren and are members of First Baptist Church.

Funeral Assistant

Bobby Worlds joined McLaurin at Pinecrest in 2010. He was born and raised in Clayton and is married to Lynette Worlds. They have four children between them and four grandchildren and are members of First Baptist Church. He is retired from the Clayton Fire Department and present owner of the Clayton Pawn & Jewelry Shop.

Sarah Young
Funeral Assistant

Sarah lives in Wendell, NC and is married to Jimmy Young. She has two children and four grandchildren. She retired from the State of NC in 2010 after 25 years of service. She enjoys reading and spending time with family.
